In the Grade 4/5 classroom, independence is a lesson that is learned by all. In our classroom, students take control of their own learning and we learn through hands-on activities, problem solving, and lots of interaction with all classes in the school. We have Kindergarten Reading Buddies, where our students read books to the younger students to practice their fluency and have some fun with the little ones. The children really value this experience and the Kindergartens have a “big friend” they can rely on. In music, there is lots of learning to do with the introduction to a recorder! In French, our students did a great job telling the story of “Le Tres Petite Cochon” and even were fabulous waiters and waitresses for our fabulous French Festival.
